Criminal Justice in South Korea
June 28 - July 14, 2025 | CJ 4950 or MCJ 6250
The on-site scheduled activities will include tours, class, and field observations that will expose students to historical and contemporary practices in criminal justice in South Korea. Tours to current criminal justice institutions and historically relevant sites will provide information about the roots of the South Korean criminal justice system and how it works in modern country. Debriefing sessions after each tour will provide opportunities to compare and discuss the connections between the South Korean and U.S. criminal justice systems. Field observations will expose students to Korean culture and provide a point of comparison to U.S. culture so that students can better understand the societal differences that underlie differences in the criminal justice systems in each country.
