MSAT Program Details

Graduate from the Master of Science in Athletic Training (MSAT) program with hands-on experience and knowledge in the prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal injuries and general medical conditions. You’ll gain the skills and experience you need to become a certified athletic trainer with instruction from experienced faculty who thoroughly understand the industry.

Our MSAT students achieve high pass rates on the Board of Certification (BOC) exam—our first-time .

The MSAT program begins in the fall semester. Our students complete a two-day orientation before they start.

Our program focuses on…

  • Upper and lower extremity orthopedic assessment
  • Therapeutic modalities (including traction, shortwave diathermy, and laser)
  • Aquatic therapy (in our SwimEx)
  • Therapeutic rehabilitation (including manual therapy techniques)
  • Radiology and pharmacology
  • Management (facility and personnel) and leadership development
  • Psychology of sport, injury, and rehabilitation
  • Conducting and evaluating research

CAATE Accreditation

In addition to 91风流's Regional Accreditation, our program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (). CAATE serves the public and the profession by establishing and ensuring compliance with accreditation standards that facilitate quality outcomes, continuous improvement, and innovation, thereby enhancing athletic training education. CAATE specializes in advancing clinical practice and improving health care outcomes by promoting excellence in athletic training.

Curriculum


Morning classes allow you to attend your clinical rotation in the afternoon. MSAT students have enough free time for a part-time job, but we do not recommend full-time employment while enrolled in the MSAT program.
