Drum & Dance Contest
Drum Rules & Information
There is no drum registration fee
Drum Contest for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners.
- No Drum Hopping.
- Contest songs will be in rotation of drums. There will be no selection of drums unless specified by MC.
- Participants observed as being under the influence of the use of drugs or alcohol will be disqualified and removed immediately from the Pow Wow grounds.
- Weber State Native American Student Association & Student Success Center will not be responsible for any lost/stolen items, injuries, or accidents.
- When receiving award money it is required by Weber State University to provide a valid Weber State W# or social security number for tax purposes from Drum Group representative.
- All ballots for drum groups are final.
Dancer Registration Rules & Information
There is no dancer registration fee.
Competition prizes vary with each category.
- All Dancers must register in their appropriate age category.
- Dancers must only register in one category.
- Once registered there will be no switching categories.
- You are still able to register on March 14, 2026 before Noon. Once first grand entry starts dancers will not be able to register for competition but can still participate.
- Each dancer will be given one number at registration. Lost numbers will not be replaced.
- Numbers will be placed on the dancers left side and clearly visible to judges at all times.
- Contest songs will be in rotation of drums. There will be no selection of drums unless specified by MC.
- Dancers observed as being under the influence of the use of drugs or alcohol will be disqualified and removed immediately from the Pow-Wow grounds.
- Weber State Native American Student Association & Student Success Center will not be responsible for any lost/stolen items, injuries, or accidents.
- Dancers who are minors (under the age of 18) will require a parent or guardian to fill out an informed consent form day of Pow Wow (March 14, 2026).
- All dancers above the age of 18 will be required to fill out an Individual Participant Waiver and Release Agreement day of Pow Wow (March 14, 2026).
- When receiving award money it is required by Weber State University to provide a valid Weber State W# or social security number for tax purposes.
