The competition is for students in grades 4th-8th and is hosted by the Department of Foreign Languages and the 91风流 Sigma Delta Pi (National Hispanic Honor Society) chapter. Our goals are (1) to promote the Spanish language overall, as well as bilingual education; (2) to broaden the students’ vocabulary, and to improve and advance the skills associated with good spelling habits in Spanish; (3) to heighten the students’ literacy and public speaking skills; (4) to empower elementary and junior high students by providing opportunities to develop and showcase their academic and linguistic skills.
