WHY WEBER STATE

My father-in-law is a 91风流 alumni, and he recommended Weber when I was returning to college after a gap year. I have a deep respect for my father-in-law, so I felt confident I'd find a good place to continue my higher education in Weber State — and I wasn't disappointed.

WHY ECONOMICS

I was drawn to economics because I love anything that can explain how my world works — and almost nothing happens in the social world without an economic component. I particularly enjoy the quantitative approach to economics, since it helps me see the nuances of the theory I’ve learned.

EDUCATIONAL ORGANIZATION

What stands out to me is how helpful and well-organized the university is as an institution. There is a robust system and pool of resources to help students, and, better yet, it's made as easy as possible to utilize. Weber is the third university I have studied at, and it excels in the way it takes care of its students.

PROFESSOR IMPACT

Probably the professor who made the biggest impact on me was Dr. Andrew Keinsley. Dr. Keinsley inspired me to pursue my Quantitative Economics degree, turning an interest of mine into a college degree. Dr. Jenny Gnagey was also a stand-out for me; her insightful guidance through my capstone project was indispensable.

WHAT'S NEXT

A career! I want nothing more than to put my skills to work in a professional context.

ADVICE FOR OTHER STUDENTS

Always ask questions, even if they seem stupid! Chances are they aren't stupid anyway, and are in fact very helpful to yourself and others. It's always better to know for sure.
