WHY WEBER STATE

Seeing the accomplishments and experiences of the Weber alumni in my own family gave me a firsthand look at the amazing 91风流 community. Combined with the university’s substantial academic scholarships, the decision to study at Weber was an easy one.

WHY MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEMS

Throughout my life, I have been surrounded by amazing family members who are passionate about technology and innovation, so it has always been a natural part of my life. Combined with Dr. Randy Boyle’s contagious enthusiasm and encouragement, it was obvious that Management Information Systems, particularly cybersecurity, was the right path for me.

PERSONALIZED EDUCATION

What stands out to me about Weber State is the sense of belonging and support. During my time at Weber State, I didn’t feel like just another student in the crowd. The small class sizes and exceptional faculty provide a personalized education where you can make true connections while receiving an outstanding education.

PROFESSOR IMPACT

The professors and faculty in the Management Information Systems program have been incredible. The Goddard School of Business & Economics works hard to create opportunities, build connections, and cultivate a learning environment that empowers student success.

Dr. Randy Boyle, Dr. Taowen Le, and Nancy Tomon have played a particularly meaningful role in my academic and professional journey. I strongly believe that great educators have the power to change lives, and I am deeply grateful for the lasting impact they have had on mine. Their guidance and unwavering support has encouraged me to pursue my goals with confidence.

ADVICE FOR FUTURE STUDENTS

Don’t let fear of the unknown keep you from challenging yourself. Real growth happens outside your comfort zone! Don’t shy away from difficult classes, they are often the most rewarding. Be kind, remember to have fun, and try your best not to procrastinate. You’ve got this. I believe in you!

WHAT'S NEXT

My plan is to pursue a graduate degree in cybersecurity from Carnegie Mellon University or the University of Utah, with a long-term goal of building a career in security risk management and governance, particularly surrounding the ethical and secure implementation of AI systems. I also recognize that the field is constantly evolving, and I am excited to explore new opportunities and interests as I continue learning and gaining experience. Ultimately, I hope to use my skills to support others and contribute to work that creates a positive and meaningful impact, wherever my path leads.
