Why Choose This Program?

Many imaging professions housed within Cardiology do not require the Radiologic Technologist (RT) certification as pre-requisite to certification. However, as a fundamental substitute, knowledge of heart anatomy, rhythm, and pathology are paramount for success in advanced careers in Cardiac Imaging, including Invasive Cardiology and Cardiac Sonography.

The Cardiographic Technician Certificate Program will consist of courses that prepare students for the (CCI) certification in both Cardiographic Technician and Rhythm Analysis.

  • Basic Cardiac Imaging
  • Limited Patient Care and Assessment

No clinical education or hospital experience is provided during the program.
 

Course Requirements

  • RADT 1012 (3 credits) - Cardiographic Technician
  • RADT 1013 (3 credits) - Rhythm Analysis
  • RADT 1014 (3 credits) - Basic Cardiac Imaging
  • RADT 1015 (2 credits) - Patient Care in Cardiology
  • HTHS 1110 (4 credits) - Anatomy & Physiology I
  • HTHS 1111 (4 credits) - Anatomy & Physiology II

The EKG courses (RADT) will not be offered in the Summer 2026 semester.

Fall 2026 semester EKG courses (RADT) can be located in the registration system.  All four RADT courses must be added to the summary before clicking submit, as they are co-required courses.

Upon certification, you may work in outpatient facilities and clinics (jobs often require additional responsibilities, such as clerical work).
