About Us

PPM 1-13, Article B-5, Section 4.8: The Committee on Research, Scholarship and Professional Growth shall recommend policies on research, scholarship, teaching loads, instructional and faculty development and faculty productivity. It shall facilitate faculty in obtaining grants, travel funds, physical facilities, etc., to pursue research and scholarly activities.

All contract, salaried faculty are encouraged to submit proposals to the RSPG Committee (see list of proposal categories below). Separate grants are available for adjunct faculty. Adjunct faculty and professional staff may be included within proposals that are submitted by contract, salaried faculty.

Fall Deadlines: Travel Grant Proposals Due August 29, 2025; RSPG Grant Proposals Due October 3, 2025. The submission form will open following travel grant reviews and notifications.

Spring Deadlines: Travel Grant Proposals Due January 9, 2026; RSPG Grant Proposals Due February 6, 2026. The submission form will open following travel grant reviews and notifications.

Summer Deadlines: Travel Grant Proposals Due May 1, 2026

All proposals are due by 5 p.m. on the due date. No proposals submitted after the deadline will be considered.

Grant Overview

The RSPG committee has grant categories including travel, research and professional development, innovative teaching, new faculty, adjunct, excellence, and collaborative grants. Travel grants are reviewed in early fall, early spring, and early summer semesters and other grants are due mid-fall and mid-spring semesters.

Travel Grants

RSPG accepts applications for conference travel and professional development during three travel grant specific rounds (early fall, early spring, early summer) and during regular fall and spring funding rounds.

Hemingway Grants and Awards

In December 1988, a $1 million gift was given by the Hemingways and their children Henry, Jane, Helen, Ann, and daughter-in-law Cathy Hemingway King to establish the Hemingway Faculty Development Trust at Weber State University.

Summary Report

Recipients of Hemingway Vitality Grants, Research and Professional Grants, Innovative Teaching Grants, Hemingway Faculty Excellence or Collaborative, and Hemingway New Faculty must complete this summary report upon completion of the project.
